is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and overhaul transit buses and related equipment in a hands-on shop environment. You will work on diesel-powered vehicles, perform preventive maintenance, and support safety and DOT inspections. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of mechanical experience, a valid driver’s license with CDL being trained upon employment, and the ability to bring personal tools.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license required; Willingness to obtain CDL while employed - We train!
Minimum of 3 years mechanical experience; substituting 1 year of related technical training for a year of experience
Ability to bring in personal tools; understand and carry out oral and written instructions

Responsibilities

Read job orders, observe vehicles in operation to determine malfunction.
Assist with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT maintenance inspections.
Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains.
Apply lubrication, cooling, exhaust and air/hydraulic systems to vehicles as needed.
Inspect and adjust vehicle equipment, HVAC, air ride, steering and braking systems.
Enter work order data into computer systems; maintain a clean work area.
