AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Transit Intern to join the Transit Engineering Group in Chicago, IL. Work on the Forest Park Branch Rebuild project alongside senior engineers, contributing to final design tasks and supporting the CTA program.

The role offers hands-on design experience, exposure to rail projects, and opportunities to develop professional skills within a leading infrastructure firm. Expected start is May 2027 in a hybrid office setting.

Competenze

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and at least two years of study completed.
• Recent grads may apply if continuing with a master's degree.
• Willingness to pursue Engineer-in-Training after graduation.

Mansioni

• Assist with rail project design, track design, and corridor modeling under supervision.
• Learn transit design through initiatives and present design sessions.
• Collaborate with transit, roadway, structures, water and environmental teams.
• Develop designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams and final drawings in Bentley OpenRail Designer.
• Use software to solve basic engineering problems and adhere to budget/schedule.
• Contribute to reports and documentation for federal grants; perform limited field work.
