Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is seeking a Transit Development (TD) Subject Matter Expert to advance bus-priority design standards across NYC streets. You will work with the TD unit, provide technical guidance, and prepare design details using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, coordinating with borough engineers and the MTA’s EPP process.

Minimum qualifications include four years of civil engineering experience and a New York State PE license; a master’s degree may substitute for one

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• New York State Professional Engineer license required.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop bus-priority street designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with Borough Directors and MTA External Partner Program reviews.
• Review engineering plans and provide design guidance for bus priority projects.
• Prepare construction plans and present design concepts to staff and stakeholders.
• Conduct research and apply best practices for bus priority treatments.
