Job summary

DC Government’s District Department of Transportation (DDOT) seeks a Data Scientist in the Innovation and Performance Division to apply data-driven methods for process improvement, decision-making, and innovation. You will work with Python, Tableau, ESRI ArcGIS or related tools to monitor asset conditions and improve communications.

Responsibilities include data preparation, advanced analytics, visualization, and open-science practices, with emphasis on strong communication and project

Qualifications

• Experience with data science methods and open science practices.
• Ability to write briefing memos and reports; strong communication.
• Experience with data visualization and GIS interpretation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, merge, reshape, and clean datasets to support DDOT operations.
• Apply descriptive, predictive, and inferential statistics to learn patterns and causal relations.
• Create graphics to visualize data and support decision-making.
