Job summary

Metropolitan Council, the regional government serving the Twin Cities area, is seeking an Assistant Manager for TCC Operations. The role plans and coordinates daily first and second shift activities across Transit Control Center units, implementing improvements to meet agency and customer needs.

Responsibilities include supervising TCC staff, defining performance measures, developing policies, managing budgets, and coordinating dispatching and information services.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience with one year in a lead/supervisory role for HS diploma.
• Six years with an Associate degree including one year in a lead/supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree or higher with four years including one year in a lead/supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee TCC operations development and monitoring of goals, objectives and procedures.
• Develop staff performance measures and staffing plans; analyze service data for corrective actions.
• Write and update departmental policies/procedures and ensure consistent emergency response.
• Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and manage budgeting and training costs.
• Supervise 5–6 TCC Supervisors and 5 Associate Communications Specialists.
• Coordinate police dispatch, liaise with public safety and CAD vendors.
• Ensure policy compliance and labor contract adherence; manage safety and training programs.
• Support training, mentoring and leadership development across the team.
