Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a Construction Engineer in Washington, DC to support WMATA JDAC projects. You will coordinate across agencies, developers, and internal teams to ensure transit construction is planned, reviewed, and delivered safely and efficiently.

The role requires a strong mix of engineering knowledge and construction management experience, with emphasis on coordination, documentation, and adherence to WMATA procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of construction field or construction management experience, ideally in transit/rail projects.
• Experience reviewing construction documents and coordinating project agreements.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, safety standards and project management practices.

Responsibilities

• Research WMATA records and resources to provide accurate as-built information.
• Review plans, specs, calculations, monitoring reports for WMATA impact.
• Guide owners, developers, contractors through WMATA requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary reviews and help move submittals through reviews.
• Support project setup, access needs, badging, train coordination, permits, and plans.
• Participate in design reviews, site visits, and progress meetings to keep work aligned with WMATA procedures.
• Monitor projects, review charges, support funding requests, resolve issues.
• Visit sites to ensure work follows approved plans and safety measures.
• Assist with project closeout documents and financial reconciliation.
• Promote a strong safety culture across projects.
