Job summary

STV is seeking a Construction Engineer to join our Transportation & Infrastructure team in Washington, DC. You will coordinate construction activities, protect WMATA assets, and work with agency partners, developers, contractors, and internal teams to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

The role focuses on civil and structural construction for WMATA JDAC, requiring a strong mix of design knowledge, construction management, and stakeholder coordination near WMATA properties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of construction field or construction management experience.
• Experience reviewing construction documents and coordinating project agreements; familiarity with alternative delivery projects.

Responsibilities

• Research WMATA records and resources to provide accurate as-built information for drawings and planning.
• Review plans, specs, work plans, and reports to identify potential WMATA impacts.
• Coordinate with owners, developers, contractors, and teams on WMATA requirements and submittals.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary reviews with WMATA experts and keep submittals moving through reviews.
• Support project setup, access needs, badging, training, track access, and permits.
• Participate in design reviews, site visits, and progress meetings to ensure coordination and safety.
• Monitor projects, maintain records, review charges, support funding requests, and resolve issues.
• Visit sites to verify work aligns with plans and WMATA safety measures.
• Support project closeout with as-built docs, warranties, surveys, punch lists, and financial reconciliation.
• Promote safety culture by following policies and reporting concerns.
