Job summary

Golden Empire Transit District seeks a Mechanic D to repair and maintain gas, CNG, hydrogen, and battery electric buses and related equipment in compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, tire work, brake adjustments, diagnostics, and documentation of repairs. A high school diploma, California driver’s license with driving experience, and related certifications are preferred. Shift work and physical demands apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record and 3 years of driving experience.
• Prior auto/bus mechanic experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain gas, CNG, hydrogen, and gasoline buses and related equipment.
• Steam clean equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Assist in repair of equipment and mounting/dismounting tires.
• Adjust brakes, install batteries, tires and wiring.
• Grease and service equipment; change oil and oil filters; fuel buses.
• Troubleshoot vehicle systems with diagnostic tools and document repairs.
