Job summary

Golden Empire Transit District is seeking a Mechanic C to maintain and repair gasoline, CNG, hydrogen fuel cell, and battery electric buses, plus paratransit vehicles and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose defects, and assist with engine/transmission work as part of a skilled maintenance team.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record, and ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid California Driver’s License with driving record acceptable to the District, along with three (3) years of driving experience.
• Prior auto/bus vehicle mechanic experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain gasoline, CNG, hydrogen fuel cell, battery electric buses, paratransit vehicles and other transportation equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections per regulatory requirements and complete lubrication, fluid and filter changes as needed.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair vehicle defects from drivers’ pre-trip or post trip inspections.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems.
