Job summary

Trinity Metro in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Bus Shop Specialist to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the transit fleet. The role involves advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs across diesel, gas, CNG, hybrid, and electric buses.

The incumbent serves as a technical resource, guides junior technicians, and collaborates with shop supervision and operations to maintain high maintenance standards and fleet readiness for revenue service.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in automotive, heavy-duty, fleet, or commercial vehicle maintenance.
• Two (2) years of transit bus maintenance preferred or required.
• Ability to diagnose complex vehicle systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses/certifications including CDL, as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and repairs on transit buses and related fleet equipment (diesel, gas, CNG, hybrid, electric).
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and computerized systems.
• Assist less-experienced technicians and provide hands-on guidance to improve diagnostic accuracy and repair quality.
• Maintain safety, quality workmanship, and accurate records; minimize downtime and ensure revenue service readiness.
