Job summary

University of Minnesota Physicians seeks a full-time clinical pathologist with transfusion medicine/blood banking expertise to join the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The candidate will lead the Blood Bank laboratory and provide key clinical and educational service within a large academic health system.

Qualifications include ABP board certification/eligibility in CP or AP/CP with blood bank/transfusion medicine, a valid MD or equivalent degree, and Minnesota licensure

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree required and eligibility for Minnesota licensure.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited pathology residency.
• Transfusion medicine/blood banking fellowship training.
• ABP board certification or board-eligibility in CP or AP/CP and blood bank/transfusion medicine.

Responsibilities

• Lead Blood Bank laboratory operations and sign-out responsibilities.
• Provide attending coverage on blood bank and apheresis services.
• Engage in teaching for students, residents, and fellows; participate in conferences.
• Contribute to scholarly activity and research within transfusion medicine/blood banking.
