Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Receiving Specialist to manage all incoming and outgoing transformer shipments and support inventory accuracy. You will verify items against packing lists/POs, inspect for damage, label and sort materials, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely production delivery.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, operating lifts to move materials, and maintaining safe, clean work areas while following safety policies and company standards.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1-3 years of mechanical and/or electrical field experience preferred.
• Basic MS Office skills required.
• WMS experience preferred.
• Material handling equipment experience preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• Adheres to safety/environmental regulations and reports hazards.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Meet department/production goals.
• Ensure product quality meets standards.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail in a team environment.
• Follow employee handbook policies and core values.
• Willingness to learn other department functions.
• Complete required safety training.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and verify items against packing lists or POs.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies.
• Label, sort, and distribute materials to storage areas.
• Maintain records of incoming inventory with tracking numbers, dates, and quantities.
• Operate material handling equipment to move materials within the shop.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely material delivery for production.
• Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Tag incoming transformers and assign inventory control numbers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
• Support safety and compliance initiatives as needed.
