Job summary

The Eaton Oakleys Ct facility in Richmond, VA, seeks a Transformer Team Lead for the 2nd shift to build transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies per customer specs using mechanical and power tools, gauges, soldering and brazing equipment.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery, following SOPs, inspecting work, and contributing to 5S+ audits and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Welding, brazing or soldering experience required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Build transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies using hand and power tools, gauges, soldering and brazing equipment.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to meet quality standards.
  • Calibrate machines and perform 5S+ housekeeping and audits.
  • Propose process and safety improvements to meet goals.
  • Communicate shift status to management and support on-time delivery.

In addition to day-to-day operations, the role is responsible for ensuring department meets operational goals around safety, quality, productivity, and on time delivery.In this function you will:Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assembliesUse heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, winding machines, fabrication, welding and brazing equipmentBe responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assemblyUse various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair productInspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goalsProvide process and safety improvement ideasEnsure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+ and participate in periodic 5S+ audits of various operationsUse available reports and monitor the progress of projects on the production floor to ensure on time delivery to the customer expectationsProvide feedback to management on the matters that impede the progress of management’s objectives of providing a harmonious, safe and productive work environmentComply with and ensure department compliance with all company guidelines, including health, safety, environment, attendance and punctualityCommunicate shift status to Production Management as well as opposite shift leadSupport continuous improvement of assigned area(s) including maintaining visual management boardQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institutionTraining or experience welding, brazing or soldering.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorshipRelocation assistance is not available for this position.
