The role requires following work orders, gathering parts, and performing safety-compliant repairs. Shifts run Fri-Sun, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM, with guaranteed 40 hours and potential for overtime. A strong safety record and ability to work with cranes and forklifts are important.
Qualifications
HS Diploma/GED preferred.
Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.
OSHA10 certification preferred.
Ability to read and interpret work orders.
Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations.
Responsibilities
Read and follow work order instructions to rebuild transformers to customer specifications.
Gather parts and tools needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition.
Recondition and reassemble substation transformers including cleaning, inspecting components, replacing gaskets, changing oil, and basic repairs.
Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation.
Operate shop equipment safely and return it to its proper location after use.
May use overhead crane and other material handling equipment as needed to perform tasks.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
Complete other assigned duties as needed.
