Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon in Temple, TX seeks a Full-Service Technician to recondition, reassemble and test transformers to customer specs and safety standards. You will read work orders, gather parts and ensure units meet quality before shipment.

Requirements: HS Diploma/GED, transformer experience preferred, OSHA10 preferred, and a strong safety record. You must lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods, and operate overhead cranes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow work order instructions to ensure rebuilding transformers to customer specifications.
• Gather parts and tools that are needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition prior to usage.
• Reconditioning and reassembly of substation transformers including cleaning, inspecting components, replacing gaskets, changing oil and basic repairs.
• Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation.
• Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately; return equipment to proper location after use.
• Overhead crane and material handling equipment may be needed to perform tasks.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Other assigned duties as needed.
