Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a Test Engineer to support our Service Business by evaluating transformer oil and electrical test data and compiling technical reports. You will work with engineering, field service, and technical support teams to review results, guide oil testing, and develop test scopes for proposals.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, data interpretation, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while supporting field crews across U.S.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related field required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• Two or more years of transformer testing experience required.
• Experience compiling transformer oil and electrical test data and preparing technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Receive and compile transformer oil and electrical test data into report templates.
• Support transformer testing including winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, power factor, and SFRA testing.
• Archive test reports and test data to company servers.
• Provide technical support to field crews across U.S. time zones.
• Review transformer oil test results and provide guidance based on findings.
• Create test scopes in support of proposal activities.
• Apply safety and integrity values in daily work activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
