Job summary

RMS Energy is seeking a Transformer Technician II to support transformer assembly, oil processing, and on-site service for critical energy infrastructure. You will work hands-on at power plants, substations, and industrial facilities, with opportunities for growth within a fast-paced, safety-first environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience in oil processing, service, or assembly, basic computer skills, and strong communication. Travel up to 80% across the continental U.S.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in transformer oil processing, service, or assembly.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and online platforms.
• Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to follow instructions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assemble transformer components such as radiators, bushings, and conservators.
• Perform degassing, pressure, and vacuum testing using dehydrator units.
• Re-gasket units and fabricate gaskets or O-rings when needed.
• Assist with teardown and preparation of transformers for transport or disposal.
• Identify and resolve basic wiring and mechanical issues.
• Complete assigned tasks and daily work orders accurately and on schedule.
• Inspect and operate tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment safely.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements when working near noise, electrical hazards, and at elevated heights.
• Support the sales team by reporting project opportunities and potential customer leads.
