Job summary

RMS Energy is seeking a Transformer Technician I to support oil processing, assembly, and on-site service across the U.S. You will assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of transformers for power plants, substations, and industrial facilities.

This hands-on role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Experience is not required beyond a year; travel up to 80% is expected, with strong emphasis on reliability and physical capability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to travel up to 80% across the continental U.S.
• Ability to pass DOT physical exam and background/drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Assemble transformer components such as radiators, bushings, and conservators.
• Perform degassing, pressure, and vacuum testing using dehydrator units.
• Re-gasket units and fabricate gaskets/O-rings when needed.
• Assist with teardown and preparation of transformers for transport or disposal.
• Identify and resolve basic wiring and mechanical issues.
• Complete tasks and work orders accurately and on schedule.
• Inspect tools and heavy equipment and follow safety protocols.
