Job summary

ERMCO is seeking a Design Engineer responsible for the independent design, development, and optimization of transformers and related components. The role requires applying established expertise with minimal supervision and mentoring junior engineers when needed.

Onsite in Dyersburg, TN, relocation assistance is available. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and refining transformer products, maintaining compliance with IEEE/UL/IEC/CSA standards, and collaborating with manufacturing,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years in electrical engineering with transformer design experience.
Experience with electrical/thermal analysis tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).
Knowledge of VB .Net, C++, SQL and ERP data management.
Familiar with IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA standards and DOE regulations.

Responsibilities

Design and develop transformers and related components, ensuring standards and customer specs.
Perform analyses to optimize performance, cost, and efficiency.
Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate designs into production.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation and test plans.
Mentor junior engineers while contributing to design reviews.
