Job summary

Optimist Boys Home & Ranch is seeking a Youth Care Counselor at our Woodland Hills campus to supervise and support residents in a therapeutic setting. You will help shape treatment plans, model positive behavior, and ensure safety in daily activities and group programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience, the ability to engage with adolescents, and CPR/First Aid certification. Scheduling includes weekend and weekday shifts with training participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience required.
• Ability to work effectively with adolescents in placement.
• Willingness to comply with organizational policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Daily care, protection and supervision of residents.
• Implements discipline and limits within the treatment setting.
• Provide role modeling to promote residents' understanding of themselves and society.
• Maintain resident records, logs and communications with social workers.
• Drive residents in agency vehicles; CPR & First Aid certified and able to administer when necessary.
• Attend mandatory trainings and lead group activities.
