Job summary

District School is seeking a Special Education - Campus role to assist teachers in delivering SPED instruction according to ARD/IEP guidelines. The position reports to the Principal and adheres to exempt/teacher pay scales within normal school hours across a 189-day calendar.

Responsibilities include coordinating SPED services, collaborating with district personnel, and maintaining confidential records in compliance with state and federal laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsement.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Train certified teachers and staff on confidentiality requirements under state and federal law.
• Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings.
• Assist administration in scheduling SPED instruction and ARD processes.
• Plan and implement staff development and in-service programs for SPED.
• Monitor SPED/504 student progress and coordinate instruction based on assessments.
• Maintain required SPED records and reports per district/state/federal guidelines.
• Ensure SPED environments are safe, organized, and accessible for all students.
• Communicate with parents, students, principals, and teachers on student progress.
