Job summary
Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide quality instructional services for special education students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff and participation in program planning under the Special Education Program Administrator.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and state teaching certification with possible LBS1 endorsement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment.
- State Teacher Certification: Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching.
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
- Current CPR, TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray as applicable.
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality services to special education students, K–12.
- Collaborate with general education staff on planning and implementation of student programs.
- Plan and implement special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.
- Participate in planning with the Special Education Program Administrator.
