Job summary

Danbury Public Schools is seeking a Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to instruct students with diverse needs in accordance with IEPs. The teacher will provide structured, small-group instruction and collaborate with families, therapists, and staff to support student progress.

The ideal candidate demonstrates collaboration, flexibility, and a student-centered approach to promote engagement, independence, and growth within an inclusive classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education is required.
• Eligible for Connecticut Special Education certification (065 or 165).
• Experience collaborating with families and related service providers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare instruction aligned with IEP goals and standards.
• Create a safe, structured classroom environment optimized for diverse learners.
• Deliver differentiated, evidence-based instruction and monitor progress.
• Participate in PPT/IEP meetings and collaborate with families and staff.
