Danbury Public Schools CT seeks a Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to instruct students with diverse needs in accordance with IEPs. The teacher provides specialized instruction within a small, structured classroom and collaborates with families, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and staff to ensure success across settings.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, and student-centered, promoting engagement, independence, and academic growth in an inclusive environment

Qualifications

• Proficiency in assessment methods and data interpretation.
• Ability to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English language learners.
• Experience in specialized instruction and remediation.
• Knowledge of child development and behavior management.

Responsabilités

• Develops short- and long-range instructional plans aligned with curriculum standards and IEP goals.
• Implements classroom management strategies and behavior support plans.
• Designs and adapts curriculum to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
• Plans for PPT/IEP meetings and collaborates with families and service providers.
• Maintains records and progress data for student IEP goals and reporting.
• Collaborates with therapists, teachers, and staff to support student success.
• Ensures a safe, structured classroom environment and inclusive practice.
