Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in a K-12 setting, with a demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive education.
• North Carolina teaching license required.
• Experience mentoring or supervising student teachers preferred.
• Proficiency in using technology for communication, documentation, and evaluation.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Foster strong professional relationships with student teachers through initial meetings, planning, and clear communication.
• Supervise and provide regular feedback, conduct formal observations, and complete required documentation and evaluations.
• Mentor and support student teachers, serving as liaison between students, cooperating teachers, and university faculty.
• Connect student teachers with community resources, partnerships, and stakeholders to enrich their learning.
• Collaborate with program coordinators and supervisors to implement the Transformational Scholars Program.
• Ensure placements align with curriculum and learning objectives, working with cooperating teachers.
• Maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders and coordinate travel to eastern NC.
