Job summary

NC State University seeks a TRIO Upward Bound Tutor to assist high school students with academic skills in core subjects. This temporary role involves afternoon/evening sessions at several campuses around Raleigh, NC, and supports student readiness for college success.

The position offers hourly pay between $20 and $25 and access to Wolfpack Perks and Benefits; a valid NC driver’s license is required for travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have sufficient academic standing to provide tutorial assistance in high school standard course of study subjects. May be a college student or professional whose field of study is the academic subject or have experience and demonstrate mastery of subject through grade/curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Assist high school students in academic skill building for core curricula courses, especially rigorous courses.
• Provide tutoring in identified subject areas at multiple sites (Vance County High School, Louisburg High School, East Wake High School) as needed.
• Support students to improve readiness for college enrollment and success.
