Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in a K‑12 setting, with a demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive education.
• North Carolina teaching license required.
• Experience mentoring or supervising student teachers preferred.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with varied stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Proficiency in using technology for communication, documentation, and evaluation.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Transformational Scholars Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Relationship Building: Supervisors will foster strong working relationships with their assigned student teachers.
• Supervision and Evaluation: Supervise and provide regular feedback to assigned Transformational Scholars student teachers. Conduct formal observations, utilize rubrics, and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentoring and Support: Offer ongoing mentorship and support to student teachers, addressing challenges and celebrating successes.
• Community Liaison: Connect student teachers with community resources and partnerships to enrich learning experiences.
• Program Coordination: Collaborate with program coordinators and supervisors to ensure effective program implementation.
• Curriculum Alignment: Ensure placements align with curriculum and learning objectives.
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and provide timely updates.
• Travel: Travel to various school districts in eastern North Carolina to supervise student teachers.
