Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in a K‑12 setting.
• North Carolina teaching license is required.
• Experience mentoring or supervising student teachers is preferred.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with varied stakeholders.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Foster and maintain strong relationships with assigned student teachers and establish effective communication channels.
• Supervise and provide regular feedback; conduct formal observations using rubrics and complete evaluations timely.
• Provide mentorship and support; act as liaison between student teachers, cooperating teachers, and university faculty.
• Connect student teachers with community resources and facilitate partnerships to enrich learning.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure effective program implementation and attend meetings.
• Ensure placements align with curriculum objectives and provide relevant materials and support.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and provide timely updates.
• Travel to various school districts in eastern North Carolina to supervise student teachers.
