Job summary

Metro’s Waste Prevention and Environmental Services (WPES) is seeking a Transfer Station Technician II to join the Metro South Transfer Station. You will operate motorized equipment, support tipping floor activities, and help maintain a safe, efficient transfer station environment for garbage and recycling services.

This role requires prior transfer station experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in transfer station operations.
• Any combination of experience/education providing equivalent knowledge.
• Must be able to operate motorized equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate transfer station equipment including compactors.
• Support tipping floor, unloading vehicles, and material recovery.
• Maintain and care for equipment.
• Ensure safety and compliance with procedures.
• Provide professional customer service to customers and the public.
• Train Technician I staff when qualified.
