Job summary

GFL is seeking a Transfer Station Laborer in Jacksonville, FL to support daily operations with a 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday. You will help direct truck traffic, assist drivers, and ensure the yard and transfer floor remain clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual attendance is essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 40 lbs and stay active.
• Team-oriented mindset with ability to work alongside operators.
• Valid drivers license required for local site movements.
• Willingness to learn basic wheel loader/backhoe operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Traffic control & customer service: direct trucks and light traffic safely.
• Safety & inspection: visually inspect loads and separate unacceptable materials.
• Site maintenance: keep yard and transfer floor clean, safe and organized.
• Equipment support: assist operators with inspections and routine maintenance.
• Safety first: wear PPE and report hazards promptly.
