Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking an individual to assist in the safe, timely, and professional operation of the transfer station on a day-to-day basis. You will direct incoming trucks and vehicles to unloading areas and help maintain site safety and cleanliness.

The role requires following safety protocols, meeting loading schedules, and coordinating with management. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be able to work in outdoor, loud environments.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, brief correspondence and memos.
• Able to write simple correspondence.
• Strong communication skills for one-on-one and small group settings.

Responsibilities

• Open and close facility according to scheduled hours.
• Oversee truck scheduling and trailer switching for unloading.
• Operate site equipment to ensure safe, timely transfer station operation.
• Keep public areas clean and follow daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedules.
• Ensure customers use the transfer station according to safety rules.
• Oversee housekeeping and maintenance of the facility.
• Meet loading schedules to ensure driver loads meet production.
