Job summary

Republic Services is hiring an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at recycling facilities, landfills, or transfer stations. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil following safety standards and company policies.

The role requires prior heavy equipment experience and OSHA site exposure. You will perform inspections, adjust equipment, document maintenance, and help maintain clean work areas and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness.
• Document minor maintenance and report repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean shop area and complete shift-end procedures.
