Service Corporation International is seeking a Transfer Specialist to handle care, removal and transport of deceased, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies. You will drive company vehicles, maintain cleanliness, and record transfers in our proprietary software while communicating with families with empathy.

Responsibilities include first-call transfers, assisting with moving caskets to airports or funeral homes, and coordinating with responders and facility staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 1 year courier/driver experience with customer interaction preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally; push/pull up to 200 pounds.
• Availability for weekends, nights and holidays; on-call rotation.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Transfers: Safely drive company vehicles for transfer of deceased in compliance with laws and policies; enter event information into our software.
• Cooperate with first responders, coroner, hospital staff and facilities.
• Interact with bereaved family members respectfully; maintain a courteous presence.
• Enters deceased event information into proprietary software according to procedures.
• Transports caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes; assists with moving caskets.
• Vehicle maintenance: wash, vacuum, clean; fuel as needed.

Maintains company vehicles cleanliness. Professional appearance and business suit required when in contact with families; casual attire for vehicle maintenance.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESTransfersSafely drives company owned professional vehicles to perform “first call” transfer of deceased in accordance with local and state/provincial laws as well as company policies and procedures. Follows processes for chain-of-custody, paperwork, and deceased identificationCooperates with first responders, Coroner, hospital staff, or Senior Living facility and accommodate their processes and proceduresFor home transfers, courteously and professionally interacts with bereaved family members; exhibits sensitivity to environment; minimizes conversation.
