Job summary

Service Corporation International in Texas is seeking a Transfer Specialist responsible for the care, removal and transport of deceased. You will drive company vehicles to perform first-call transfers, maintaining cleanliness and safety, while ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

You will interact with bereaved families in a respectful manner, coordinate with coroner, hospital staff, and facilities, and enter event data into our proprietary software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State-issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
• Courier/driver experience with direct customer interaction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transfers: safely drives company vehicles to perform first-call transfers of deceased in compliance with laws and policies.
• Vehicle maintenance: wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles; fuel as needed.
• Enter transfer event information into proprietary software per procedures.
• Interact with families in a courteous, sensitive manner and coordinate with responders and facilities.

Maintains company vehicles cleanliness. Follows processes for chain-of-custody, paperwork, and deceased identificationCooperates with first responders, Coroner, hospital staff, or Senior Living facility and accommodate their processes and proceduresFor home transfers, courteously and professionally interacts with bereaved family members; exhibits sensitivity to environment; minimizes conversation.
