The Transfer Machine is a hot-mix asphalt transfer vehicle that separates the delivery truck and the paver, allowing continuous paving through non-contact, uninterrupted delivery of material to the paver. The shuttle operation and surge capability enable trucks to arrive, unload, and return to the plant without waiting.

Responsibilities

• Operate the transfer machine in coordination with the dump man and Paver Operator to match material inflow, on-board storage, and material discharge to meet the prescribed mix and laydown goals, facilitating non-stop paving.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation walk-around inspections and report any mechanical issues needing maintenance attention.
• Keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including maintaining good housekeeping.
• Receive and execute directions from the Paving Foreman or Superintendent.
• Operate the equipment safely in active traffic areas.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine, including its limitations.
• Skills to conduct inspection checklists on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
• Ability to operate the vehicle safely on job sites and follow company policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate the vehicle safely in active traffic conditions.

Additional Requirements

• Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order.
• Must follow safety protocols and procedures.
