Job summary

Ryder is hiring a SOLO Class A CDL Transfer Driver in St Charles, IL, for local shuttle work between Ryder customer facilities. This part-time role offers home daily and weekly pay, with an early start time around 8 AM and no-touch freight job duties.

As a member of the Ryder team, you will follow safety and DOT regulations, pass background checks, and participate in routine road testing and drug screening. Ryder provides benefits, uniforms, 401k rollover, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL with endorsements for the position.
• No-touch freight experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Drive a commercial vehicle in a safe, DOT-compliant manner.
• Maintain logs and records as required.
• Participate in ongoing safety training and customer service.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $22.50 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule: Part-Time

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight: No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs Other tasks as assigned
