Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Akron, OH is seeking a SOLO Class A CDL Part-Time Transfer Driver. Join a team that moves equipment between Ryder facilities with no-touch freight and local home time, daily.

Expect a 30–35 hour week with Monday–Friday shifts and an 8 AM start time. This role offers weekly pay, a CDL-required position, and full Ryder driver support across 800+ maintenance facilities.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with endorsements; ability to pass Ryder drug test and background checks
• DOT physical required; road test and proper license endorsements
• Minimum 9 months tractor-trailer experience (or 2–5–10 year options) and ability to follow instructions

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle and comply with DOT regulations
• Perform shuttle transfers with no-touch freight and maintain logs

Weekly Pay $660 per weekAnd it gets better -

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $22.00 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule: Between Monday - Friday
• Part Time: 30 - 35 hrs weekly
• Start Time: 8 AM

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical

• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs Other tasks as assigned
