Job summary

University Hospital is seeking a Transfer Center Scheduler to act as receptionist and registrar for the Transfer Center. You will schedule, confirm, maintain, and monitor patient transfers and discharges, handling registration and general duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of relevant experience, and strong computer and customer service skills, with familiarity in EPIC and StatCall preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in patient registration and/or scheduling.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Professional telephone etiquette required.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of EPIC and StatCall software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate appropriate and timely transportation requests.
• Confirm, maintain, and monitor patients’ transfer and/or discharge.
• Pre-register transfer patients in EPIC and StatCall.
• Coordinate with Bed Management and Ambulance Communications for bed assignment or discharge.
• Document ambulance arrival times in StatCall.
• Facilitate routine non-clinical transportation requests such as lab work, records, or surgical trays.
• Develop and maintain good customer relations within department guidelines.
