Job summary

Baltimore County Office of Law is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Transactions Practice Group, advising county agencies on business transactions, contracts, and related legal matters.

Under supervision, the attorney will draft and review real estate, procurement, and financing documents; provide counsel to Boards and Commissions and assist in improving procurement processes for efficiency.

Qualifications

• A law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Maryland Bar.
• 7–9 years of transactional and/or legislative drafting experience or related business/municipal law experience.

Responsibilities

• Drafts and reviews contracts, deeds, leases and other real estate documents, grants, loans, financing documents including bonds and procurement documents.
• Drafts bills and resolutions for various County agencies; conducts legal research as needed.
• Serves as Counsel to Boards and Commissions and advises County executives and departments on legal matters; negotiates complex transactions.
