Job summary

CLA is seeking a Manager/Director in Transaction Tax to lead tax due diligence, structuring, modeling, and advisory engagements for acquisitions and dispositions. You will manage client relationships, mentor team members, and collaborate with SALT, International, and Federal Tax Solutions groups.

CPA is required; JD/EA may be accepted in lieu of CPA. California-based role with flexible, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years federal, state, and/or international tax experience.
• CPA license required; a JD or EA may be accepted in lieu of a CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with new business development, existing clients and mentoring team members.
• Deliver a full range of tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and other engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions by private equity investor groups, family offices and strategic buyers.
• Collaborate with CLA specialty tax groups (SALT, International Tax, Federal Tax Solutions) as needed.
• Perform tax due diligence reviews of returns, documents, and financial statements and write reports.
• Lead engagement progress by monitoring time, budgets and deadlines for adherence.
• Communicate important developments to the engagement principal with facts, conclusions, and recommendations.
