Job summary

CLA is seeking a Manager/Director to join our Transaction Tax practice in California. You will manage client relationships, coordinate with senior leaders, and guide projects through tax due diligence, structuring, and modeling for acquisitions and dispositions by PE groups and strategic buyers.

You will collaborate with SALT, International Tax, and Federal Tax Solutions teams, lead engagement progress, and communicate conclusions and recommendations to engagement principals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in federal, state, and/or international tax compliance, planning and consulting.
• CPA license required; a JD or Enrolled Agent may be accepted in lieu of CPA.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with new business development, existing clients and mentoring team members.
• Deliver tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and other engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions by PE groups, family offices and strategic buyers.
• Collaborate with SALT, International Tax, and Federal Tax Solutions teams as needed.
• Perform tax due diligence reviews of tax returns, legal documents, and financial statements and write reports.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time, budgets and deadlines.
• Communicate developments, conclusions and recommendations to the engagement principal.
