Job summary

Service Credit Union is seeking a full-time, on-site Transaction Specialist in Rochester, NH. You will ensure accurate, compliant processing of all transactions across member accounts and support process improvements while focusing on exceptional member experience.

Starting pay is $21.00/hour with flexibility based on experience. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and with a team, and willingness to travel to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a related field.
• Customer service experience required.
• Financial industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to member inquiries accurately and promptly.
• Process transactions accurately and reconcile with SLAs and KPIs.
• Post and reconcile transactions including loans, deposits, and general ledger entries.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and member inquiries in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support system enhancements and testing as needed.
• Open and route member correspondence and prepare outgoing mail.
• Maintain core processing system knowledge and participate in projects.

Service Credit Union is seeking a full-time, on-site Transaction Specialist who is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, compliant, and member-focused administration of all transactions across all accounts serviced by Service Credit Union. The Transaction Specialist serves as a key resource in identifying opportunities for process improvement, mitigating operational risk, the protection of the credit union’s assets, and delivering exceptional service to members and internal stakeholders.

A Day in the Life:

• Deliver exceptional service by responding to member inquiries accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner.
• Resolve member concerns whenever possible during the initial point of contact.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently while supporting departmental service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and organizational objectives.
• Post and reconcile incoming transactions, including loan payments, payoffs, deposits, general ledger entries, and other monetary transactions.
• Research, process, and complete member and internal requests, including check withdrawals, wire transfers, and other loan-related transactions.
• Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies, balancing issues, and member inquiries in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with credit union policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support operational efficiency through effective workflow management, quality control, and attention to detail.
• Provide exceptional service to members and internal business partners while supporting department projects, reporting needs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Open, sort, distribute, and process incoming mail, ensuring timely routing and handling of member correspondence, payments, and documentation.
• Prepare outgoing mail including certified and overnight deliveries
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of core processing system
• Participate in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Support system enhancements, testing, and implementation efforts as needed.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in a related field desired. Customer service experience required. Financial industry experience desired.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for up to 2 hours.
• Ability to lift boxes up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to use computers for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to travel to other work locations as required, if needed.
