Job summary

Selby Jennings seeks a Transaction Advisory Services Manager in the Chicago area to lead buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements for middle-market transactions. The role offers a hybrid work model and significant exposure across industries.

You will manage all aspects of TAS engagements, mentor junior staff, analyse GAAP and EBITDA adjustments, and build strong client relationships to identify opportunities for expansion of services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Approximately 6+ years of experience in Transaction Advisory Services, Financial Due Diligence, Quality of Earnings, Audit, or related advisory work.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams in a manager-level capacity.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statement analysis, and transaction-related accounting issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements for middle-market transactions, typically ranging from $25 million to $100 million in enterprise value.
• Manage all aspects of transaction advisory engagements, including Quality of Earnings analyses, EBITDA adjustments, working capital assessments, and financial trend analysis.
• Analyze financial statements and provide recommendations related to valuation considerations and transaction structuring.
• Review diligence workpapers and client deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Mentor and develop junior team members while overseeing engagement execution.
• Build relationships with business owners, management teams, and other key stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
• Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and deepen client relationships.
• Support additional advisory and agreed-upon procedures engagements as needed.
