Job summary

Taylor Healthcare Center in Grafton, WV, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is seeking a Full Time Transportation Assistant to help residents travel safely to appointments and activities. You will work with the care team to ensure timely transport and resident safety.

You will shuttle residents and staff, provide monitoring for elopement risks, and assist with basic nursing tasks while maintaining documentation and following all policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current, valid Driver’s License in WV.
• 5–7 years experience in healthcare or service industry.
• Graduate of Nurse Aide Training program or eligible to enter and graduate within 120 days.
• Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
• Compassionate and enthusiastic personality.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents safely to appointments inside and outside the facility.
• Shuttle employees and assist with in-house activities.
• Provide one-on-one monitoring for elopement risks during outside visits.
• Perform basic nursing care procedures as required.
• Maintain resident records and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Follow departmental and corporate safety and infection control procedures.

This position must work effectively with team members in ensuring that work is accomplished and quality care is delivered, supporting their team members and celebrating team successes. While focusing on delivering quality resident care, the position must also manage the resources that are available to them in their job.**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*** Enjoy working with seniors.* Both transporting residents and shuttling employees.* Transport and assist residents, per facility vehicle, to outside physician visits in a safe manner.* Transport Employees* Assist with transporting residents within the facility to scheduled specialty appointments, i.e. podiatry, audiology, optometry, dental, etc.* Assist with transporting residents to and from scheduled in-house activities.* Provide one on one monitoring for residents deemed an elopement risk on outside visits.* Perform basic nursing care procedures for residents as required.* Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and assure that their needs are met.* Maintain resident documentation records.* Maintain and work within established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.* Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care.* Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS*** High school graduate or G.
