Join us at Vylor for an exciting and impactful 3-month internship designed to give broad based exposure of the day-to-day activities at our Growth Chamber Facility located in Johnston, Iowa. You will be part of a team that supports soybean and wheat population development and trait integration for both plant breeding and trait development activities. Sharing resources across research groups facilitates more efficient integrated product development. You will get the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the research facility’s activities.
Work as part of a team performing day to day growth chamber tasks: planting, pollinating, DNA sampling, pest and disease scouting, harvesting, threshing, and general plant care
Responsible for collection of high-quality data
Assist Corteva Vylor located at the research facility
Manage your own research project with the expectation of a verbal report to the larger intern group found throughout the United States.
Gain excellent experience that can be applied to full-time positions in the industry, or in preparation for additional graduate level training in the plant sciences.
Priority will be given to students that are at least current sophomores at an accredited university. Interns can be undergraduate or graduate students. Knowledge and experience in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Genetics, Biology or a related field.
Preference will be given to students with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Must be enrolled at an accredited university at the time of internship.
Must be able to relocate to the Johnston, Iowa area for the duration of the internship.
Creative thinking and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
