Job summary

RTX is hiring a Software Engineer II for Training System Software in Sterling, VA. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and testing multi-threaded software for training simulators used by military and commercial customers.

Onsite work is required in a fast-paced, agile environment with collaboration across hardware, systems, and test teams. The position requires a STEM degree with at least 2 years of related experience and an active Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date
• A working knowledge of C/C++

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software on cross-functional agile teams to deliver solutions within budget, scope, and schedule constraints
• Perform software debugging
• Work independently with general supervision
• Provide engineering estimates for own work
• Travel to domestic and international customer sites to support training events and product installations
