Pratt & Whitney in Sterling, VA is seeking a Software Engineer II for Training System Software (Onsite). The role requires U.S.

citizenship and an active secret clearance; you will design, develop, and test multi-threaded software in an agile environment to support realistic training systems and simulators. You will work with cross-functional teams, contribute to software and systems requirements, and travel for training events and deployments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date
• A working knowledge of C/C++

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software on cross-functional agile teams to deliver solutions within budget, scope, and schedule constraints
• Highly motivated software developer
• Perform software debugging
• Work independently with general supervision
• Provide engineering estimates for own work
• Contribute to bidding and proposal activities
• Contribute to software and systems engineering requirements capture and analysis
• Travel to domestic and international customer sites to support training events and product installations
