Job summary

Steuben Foods, Inc. is seeking a motivated Training Specialist to support onboarding, training, and continuous learning across shifts in Elma, NY.

You will develop programs, maintain SOPs, and collaborate with Production and HR to drive performance improvements. The role requires strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to identifying skill gaps and delivering coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding and cross-training programs, including required documentation and LMS entries.
  • Conduct production training both on the manufacturing floor and in classroom settings.
  • Develop and implement production training programs aligned with company objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and complete training materials, SOPs, and equipment instructions for all shifts.
  • Identify skill gaps and provide additional training, coaching, or performance feedback as needed.
  • Develop and improve training programs and initiatives to support employee development and operational needs.
  • Establish and maintain training policies and programs that support efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with Production, Human Resources, supervisors, and management to achieve training goals.
  • Participate in the commissioning and startup of new equipment and production conversions.
  • Lead training efforts for new equipment, including startup training, SOP development, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Coordinate refresher training as needed.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the Training Team, Production Supervisors, and Management.
  • Assist Human Resources by providing job-related information and tours to potential new employees.
  • Demonstrate initiative, independence, and productivity in completing assigned responsibilities.
  • Adapt to different positions, departments, and shifts based on business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

Schedule: Variable; must be willing to work different shifts and adjust to business needs.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
