Summary Of Responsibilities

The Training and Safety Program Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving FLEX's safety and training programs, operational training initiatives, and compliance processes across all target segments. This role ensures office employees, field personnel and End User Customers are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to perform their work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.

The Training and Safety Program Lead serves as a strategic leader and subject matter expert, driving a culture of safety excellence while supporting organizational growth, key growth initiatives, workforce development, and risk mitigation. This position collaborates closely with sales and marketing leadership and customer stakeholders to ensure safety and training programs align with business growth objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & Compliance
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of FLEX's internal and external safety and training programs.
  • Establish and promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, state and local regulations, customer-specific standards, and company policies.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics and trends related to our End User training initiatives.
  • Maintain all required safety documentation, records, certifications, and regulatory reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety and training initiatives.
Training & Workforce Development
  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for FLEX team members and external customers
  • Create new hire onboarding and orientation programs with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, operational excellence, and company culture.
  • Develop role-specific training pathways and certification programs for field personnel, supervisors, and management.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, field observations, performance metrics, and employee feedback.
  • Coordinate training schedules, materials, instructional resources, and records management.
  • Maintain and administer learning management systems (LMS), training databases, and compliance tracking platforms.
  • Ensure all employees maintain required certifications, licenses, and recurring compliance training.
  • Develop training materials including presentations, SOPs, work instructions, videos, manuals, and job aids.
Program Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish annual safety and training objectives and goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, training completion, compliance, and employee development.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance safety, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Benchmark industry best practices and implement innovative safety and training solutions.
  • Support operational growth initiatives by developing scalable training programs for new contracts, services, and locations.
  • Manage budgets related to safety equipment, training programs, certifications, and professional development.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to supervisors, managers, and employees on safety and training best practices.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee development, performance management, corrective actions, and policy administration.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Customer teams to ensure consistent execution of safety and training standards.
  • Present safety and training performance updates to executive leadership.
  • Foster an environment of accountability, communication, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in safety management, training, learning and development, operations management, or a related field, including demonstrated responsibility for managing safety programs, regulatory compliance, incident prevention initiatives, and safety performance metrics.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership, program management, or cross-functional project leadership experience, including experience guiding teams or stakeholders without necessarily having direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs for diverse employee populations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience preparing safety, training, or compliance reports for leadership review, audits, inspections, or customer requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methods, and training evaluation practices.
Required Accreditation And Experience
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD)
  • Experience supporting field operations, logistics, facilities, manufacturing, construction, or service-based organizations.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), training databases, or compliance tracking platforms to assign training, maintain records, monitor completion, and support audit readiness.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to provide program leadership, coaching, and guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers on safety and training standards

Travel

Role will require regular travel to the field locations, customer sites and operational facilities, including daily travel within the territory and up to 40% overnight travel.
