Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a Training Manager to develop, implement, and continually improve training programs that support safety, technical proficiency, leadership, and operational excellence across our projects.

The role partners with Operations, Safety, HR, and field leadership to ensure employees possess the knowledge, certifications, and skills to work safely and efficiently. A strong background in utility construction, adult learning, and LMS management is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of training, learning and development experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience supporting utility construction, electrical transmission and distribution, telecommunications, pipeline, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and instructional design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage company-wide technical, safety, leadership, and compliance training programs.
• Lead new hire orientation and onboarding programs for craft professionals and staff.
• Identify training needs and close skill gaps with operations and HR teams.
• Develop career progression pathways and competency-based training for field employees.
• Manage LMS content, training records, certifications, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate classroom, virtual, and hands-on training sessions.
• Evaluate training effectiveness with metrics and feedback.
• Develop SOPs, materials, videos, and facilitator guides.
• Partner with leaders on change initiatives and leadership development.
• Oversee third-party training vendors and apprenticeship programs.
• Monitor certifications and renewals for required licenses.
